41 countries, 120 cities, and well over 60,000 photos sums up how blessed my travel life has been.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts I grew up as a bit of a homebody. I never really traveled much growing up, nor did I ever have the desire to. Truth be told, the idea of living far away from Boston terrified me, so I was content with where I was.
Like many, it was a life change that inspired me to travel. In 2010, after the long road of getting back on my feet after a break up, I decided it was time to go. I packed up all of my belongings into three suitcases and headed off for Galway, Ireland. Despite having family heritage and dual citizenship, I didn’t know anybody there, I just left to start fresh and help clear my head. Little did I know that I would get bit by the travel bug and become intoxicated with seeing new places and experiencing new cultures.
It’s hard to describe the feeling I get from travel, it’s a wide combination of things really. It’s an appreciation for the blessings I have to see what I’ve seen and travel where I’ve been to; an eagerness to learn about a new culture, try new foods, speak new languages, experience new customs and the desire to immerse myself into something new and exciting. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this whole experience has changed and continues to change me as a person. I am so thankful for that.
Before I left home to move to Ireland, I had been fostering a hobby of photography. A hobby, that I am so thankful to say, has grown into something so much more as time has gone on.
